Ladies who like chignons but want them to look slightly different may wish to consider a side updo instead of the very traditional centered updo. These pictures don't show Cate Blanchett's updo as well as a direct shot from the back would, but you get the idea. It's just a regular chignon set off to the side so it is tied right behind your right ear. Of course you can choose either ear; it makes no difference.
